Personality & Traits

General Overview Yivrin was born and raised as a Federation citizen on a lunar colony in the Beta Quadrant, and dreamt of becoming a Starfleet fighter pilot for as long as he can remember.

There were very few members of his species passing through--much less living in--New Bremerton. He is not comfortable discussing issues regarding his race and actively avoids interacting with other Cardassians whenever possible.

Tends to overcompensate when he thinks he's done something wrong.
Strengths & Weaknesses Substance abuse--particularly alcohol--tend to get him into trouble. Has been put on report more than once for reporting to duty "hung over."

Resourceful/Manipulative: If he really puts his mind to it Pexil can create miracles; when he loses focus disaster ensues.
Ambitions While his true passion is being in the cockpit of a fighter, his talents and ambitions are leading him pursue higher rank and greater experience in starship command.
Hobbies & Interests - Holonovels based on the Super Sentai series of ancient earth
- Karaoke

Personal History Upon their elopement his parents settled on a smaller Federation colony world; his father abandoned them just days before he was born. His mother remarried a few years later, his brother was born, and they all lived together on a Federation lunar colony in the city of New Bremerton.

Theirs was one of what seemed like only a handful of Cardassian families on the jungle moon known as U'toba; for most of his pre-adult life Yivrin was often the only Cardassian in the room; the first of his kind someone had ever met on an almost daily basis. As a teenager he got a job in the restaurant industry, and over the years developed into a confident and charismatic credit to his community.

While academics had never been his strong suit, Yiv had a gift for making vehicles move as if he'd been born in them. He was granted a probationary scholarship to Starfleet's Flight School based on his practical and aptitude test scores. Though several blemishes marked his time at the Academy, he was able to graduate.
Service Record =/\= 2418 - 2419 | Research and Development Test Pilot, Utopia Planitia

"Ensign Pexil performed his duties to the best of his abilities when he was competent and capable of doing so. I have nothing more to say."
-- Quoted from exit interview

"Alright, so it was the week we were testing those combat-landing struts on thoses ones Dance calls 'B-plugs' for some reason. I swear... I don't get that guy. I mean, what the hell is that even supposed to mean? Bees have been extinct for what, two-, three hundre--
"--not! It's 3:00 in the morning, and this drunk fucking jackass is out here trying to 'practice' crash landings!? 'WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN FOR THE LAST TWO DAYS DANCE!? WHO'S FUCKING SHIP IS THIS!?'"
-- Quoted from witness testimony

"I'm sad to see him go, but I'm not gonna miss him in a bad mood in the morning. No.... scratch that, I kinda will. Yes, he's torn some of what I thought was my best work to shreds, but then again he's got an eye for weaknesses that reason and self-preservation often blind us to."
-- Quoted from a letter of reference

=/\= 2419 | Shuttlebay Manager, USS Spokane

"Ens Pexil requested to be relieved of duty for the day as advised by the Deck Chief due to physical imparement. Because he was not explicitly ordered to do the Ensign did not report to Sickbay for immediate evaluation.
-- Quoted from Flight Ops Officer's Duty Log

"I'd like to recognize an Ensign who most of the crew seem to know as 'Dance.' He was the relief officer on Gamma shift when the storm hit. I don't know when I gave up trying to warn whoever was at the helm where the next eddy was coming at us from--nope! wait! yes I do!--it was when I saw him standing at the helm station manipulating the controls without taking his eyes off the screen. It's kinda hard to describe the way that he leaned into the direction he was steering the ship. The fact that I've yet to run into this guy since--and I've been looking for him--is the main reason I'm mentioning this in my log.
-- Quoted from a diplomat's official log

"To Commander Cray, USS Vindicator: I am truly sorry to hear about what happened to Ensign Wion, but I'm glad to hear she's gonna make it. I hear we're gonna be moored at the same port next week; I'd like to transfer one of our officers over there temporarily to fill in for her until she recovers or you find a permanent replacement. Promote him or send him back--everybody wins either way.
-- Quoted from communications log

=/.= 2420 | Pilot, USS Vindicator

"Computer: Please note in the ships log that as of this date Yivrin Pexil has been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant, Junior Grade to serve as XO Operations Officer of the 54th--" audible sigh "--'Disco Squad'"
-- Quoted from the ship's log
