Mission: In the Dark

And like on cue the storm arrived wind started picking up with loud howls. The snow fall increased and became thicker and a silence arrived that only a winter storm could bring. Pulling on her slightly heavier outer jacket she pulled it in close. She enjoyed this weather but even her body was gonna start struggling with the drop in temperature.

"Corporal pull everyone back. We'll shrink the permitter for safety. And I want all patrols accounted for." Indys said as she started back into base camp. Seeing as she could see no more than 10 feet in front of her and knew that it was just gonna get worse.

"Of course ma'am." Corporal D’Saish a female Orion said. Sending a couple of privates in the opposite direction she was heading in. D’Saish sighed she enjoyed the snow at least in the holodeck where she could control the temperature and the amount that was falling. This was just not fun for her too cold, couldn't see and who knew what might happen.

"Sergeant. Why are we pulling back?" Jasmine asked. Normally trusting her detachment sergeant's instincts but this was one of those missions where she needed to know moves ahead of time.

"A storm is coming." Was all Indys said, "figure it'll be better to close ranks than be spread out when it hits. As we speak we're doing a head count." Jasmine just nodded she wasn't sure what it was but with the way this culture viewed women was making her feel the need to assert her dominance.

"Alright. Once you get the head count find me directly." Jasmine said heading back to the main part of camp. Indys just nodded and she sent runners out for the head count.

"Sergeant all but a security patrol and a scientist by the name of Roswell hasn't checked in." D'Saish said. Indys just nodded and shook her head this was the last thing she wanted to do.

"El-tee we're missing one security team and blasted egg head." Indys said walking over to the deatchment CO. "Permission to set-up SAR teams."

Jasmine didn't really have a choice at this point she couldn't leave them to fend for themselves. The security team was better equipped to deal with the weather than the science officer, "permission granted. But you only have 45 minuets before you come back." Indys just nodded and went to set-up the teams.
