Mission: All Hallows’

Amelia strode on to the bridge and looked around with a purpose. There were two men she needed to talk to: James Archer, and Almar Dahe'el, in that order. The situation she'd been drawn into with the Witchdoctor's cryptic message, that'd been shared with the bridge earlier, had been a loaded one. She knew she didn't have the access needed to sweep it neatly under the rug anymore. She needed someone who was active Intel. Spotting the Commander, she breezed past him on a trajectory towards her office.

"Commander Archer, if I could have a minute of your time," she directed at him as she passed by.

"Yeah, I'll be there in a minute. I just need to finish up with this crewman." James replied without looking up, and continued passing a dermal regenerator over a man's charred arm. He'd been lucky it wasn't worse than what it was, his entire console had blown up in front of him around the same time a ceiling panel had visited with the Captain's face.

Five minutes later he graced the First Officer with his presence, "Whatcha need?"

"We have a situation," Amelia started with a sigh. She knew how dramatic that sounded, and she hated to sound like she was maybe blowing things out of proportion. "It involves Landon Neyes, or at least a damn good copy of him. Apparently was scooped up with survivors on the Romulan ship."

"Ha... Bullshit." James chuckled lightly, busting out his medical tricorder to begin taking readings, specifically looking for head trauma. "I'd be careful starting rumors like that. You know how Rocky felt about that slug farm." He muttered with both eyebrows lifted as he started analyzing the readings. She was perfectly fine.

"I wish I was joking," she returned, eying the tricorder he'd pointed at her. If the situation hadn't been so serious, she would have probably even laughed at his skepticism. "Last I checked, she's still unconscious from that abuse delivered to her during the battle, which allowed Grant and—" Amelia paused. She almost said Neyes, but now she wasn't so sure that was the correct thing to call the counselor. "...and Tristan to get him out of sickbay without her seeing him. We need to figure out what's going on, and just who he is... the real Landon, a clever Romulan fake, or something else. And we need to do it without Rochelle finding out until we know just what we are dealing with."

James closed the tricorder. "Well... This is a Hell of a thing..." He sighed heavily, "I'm no doctor, but maybe we should take a brainwave scan, voice analysis and DNA test, scan it for any and all possible anomalies from cloning and bounce it off Starfleet's database. It's really not all that hard."

"Yeah, I think the counselors are already on that part of it. I was hoping you might be able to assist in keeping him off Rochelle's radar until we know what's going on? We've got him in a set of unassigned quarters, and so far they're making due without the replicator, and liberating medical supplies on the sly... but I had to site to site us out of sickbay, and I can't wipe my trail behind me anymore." She frowned. She hated having to ask for this sort of help.

James started to slowly pace the deck in Pond's office, "Oooh, so you want me to violate multiple Star Fleet regulations to cover your ass, so you can violate even more Star Fleet regulations, so you can hide the slug-man from the Captain. Who we both know will hate us to no end if we don't tell her he's alive?"

"Yes." There was no denying it, so why bother? Amelia crossed her arms, watching Archer pace. "We both know that if slug boy isn't the real Landon, it will absolutely break her this time. If we find he's legit, we'll tell her, but only if. If not, we take care of it and she never needs to know."

"I say we just give him some Ivermectin, cover him in salt, and be done." James sighs, "No? OK, I'll take care of the logs. However, he is to be kept in stasis until we can get a positive ID on him."

"I'll let you argue the stasis with Commodore Levine," Amelia returned. "Thank you. Even though I'm fairly certain you're doing this for Rochelle... if there's ever anything I can do, you let me know."

James gave a wry smile as he turned to leave, "I'll hold you to that."
