1,504 words; about a 8 minute read

Mission: Agua Mala
Location: Various locations

Back in her quarters after meeting with Archer, Teá was both relieved and terrified; relieved that she actually truly did learn a lesson and that she was actually changing, but terrified that maybe she really hadn't and she was doomed to repeat this stupid ass routine over and over again. Removing her uniform top, boots and bottoms next she pulled out a lovely bottle of Bajoran spring wine and poured herself a drink.

Taking a seat in front of her monitor hands hovering over the button that would automatically contact Sean, Teá hesitated; she never hesitated. Taking a couple of sips of her wine and some deep breaths before hitting the button, "hey babe!" Teá said with a small smile as she set the glass next to the screen.

"Hello there, gorgeous," Sean returned, settling down in front of his com terminal. He raised an eyebrow as he took in the small smile. "Is everythin' okay?"

"It is now." Teá said blowing him a kiss, "but......" She started but stopped, "well things got a bit complicated when I finally met my department head. I got busted down to ensign for the remainder of the mission." Teá paused allowing that to sink in, "it's because he found out about somethings that I was doing to wrap an assignment from Fleet intel and I didn't fill him. And when he found out I got all defensive and do what I usually do when I get defensive."

"You back talked him, didn't you?" Sean frowned and sighed. "I thought your counselor had said you were ready to go back on active duty? You're not gettin' kicked off Vindicator, are you?"

"The counselor did clear me, but......it's not like a magic wand and I'm gonna be a perfect child. And no I'm not getting kicked off the Vindicator and yes I did back talk him but I was trying to explain and defend myself." Teá annoyed that no one was understanding that she was following orders.

"You know how it is though; protocol, chain of command, and showin' respect — they all seem to mean more than the actual orders themselves," Sean insisted with a sigh. "I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't care about the orders, just whatever he felt you did to disrespect him. You were able to sort it in the end, yeah?"

"But in the end I turned things around and proved that I'm learning and I've been reinstated as junior lieutenant. But I felt like you should hear this from me before you spoke with Pond again." Teá said looking at Sean, "are you mad or upset with me for slipping?" She asked.

"I'm glad you were able to tell me." He laid his hand on the screen, touching where the image of her cheek was. "What'd Pond say about it? I know Intel's a funny thing, and she's always going on about things that don't make a bit of sense to me because she has to leave so much out that helps it all make sense." He shook his head slowly with a half-frown.

"She didn't take it well......but she did try to understand and left my punishment up to my department head. But she gave me yet another stern warning." Teá said, "chances our when you talk to her next you'll most likely hear about it again I just wanted to be the first one to tell you what happened."

"I'm glad that you did. And I'm sure she'll appreciate that you did too." Sean sighed and shook his head again, making a clicking noise with his tongue, even as the corner of his lip started to turn up a little. "What am I going to do with you?"

Smiling, "let me be me......oh and love me unconditionally." She added with a grin. Noticing the PaDD with the data she received before getting a new hole torn by Archer knowing that she easily could erase the data, send it to Archer or just sit on it.

"Unconditionally? That sounds like a recipe for trouble, if'n you ask me. Like, what if you murdered a nun, or told me that Guinness was undrinkable?" He shook his finger at her, and grinned. "Unconditional only comes from pets and wee ones, gorgeous, but I can certainly be patient and understanding."

Teá had to smirk at that, "I don't murder it's more of a......." Shaking her head, "never mind. but you being patient and understanding is all I need from you."

"More of a..." Sean looked as if he was going to ask, but shook his head, thinking better of it. That was the sort of vague statement that occasionally flew from Pond's mouth too, and asking had always ended with a refusal to speak. "Patient and Understanding is a specialty of mine. You don't grow up in the middle of half a dozen sibs or become friends with someone like Pond, without having an abundance of both."

Laughing slightly, "guess that's true. Speaking of family you do realize at some point I need to meet yours, right?" Teá asked winking at him.

"Y'did make a good impression on Ma and Da th' one time, but if you think you're ready for all me sibs and all their families, I'm sure Ma'll happily put on a big supper next time we can sneak off t' Earth," Sean insisted.

"I would love that!" Teá said surprised with her answers and truthfully how she was behaving maybe she was learning. "Anyways how have you been? Besides missing me something terrible?" She asked trying to do her best Earth southern accent.

"Bored out of me mind," Sean answered, shaking his head at the accent Teá affected. "We haven't encountered much of anything on our patrol. All's quiet, and I can't get anyone to play rugby with me in the holodeck."

"I'm sorry babe," Teá said giving him a bit of a frown, "at least I know you're safe." She added with a grin, "maybe have some of the guys over to watch a match and than see if they wanna play a game?"

"Half of them tell me that they don't even like Guinness. They get pissed on what basically amounts of the piss of an Irishman who's been drinkin' the black stuff all night. They can't appreciate the black stuff, how can they appreciate a fine sport like Rugby?" He shook his head, cradling his face in his hands.

Teá couldn't help but laugh as she listened to Sean rant, "babe not everyone is a Irishmen or is gonna like Guinness you need to accept that." She said giving him a wink.

"How could they not appreciate perfection though?"

"I know I know babe but not everyone is you. Which is a good thing." She added with a grin finding his rants on people not enjoying the stuff and rugby as his pet peeves.

"I think Pond would recreate the great Tribble hunt using me, if'n there was more than one o' me," Sean insisted with a laugh. "I think I'd threaten her if I out numbered her. Would make for an amusing holodeck program to torture her. I should as Diz about making it." A wide mischievous grin bloomed across his face.

"Are you trying to make my life harder here?" Teá asked with a smirk, "but I would love to see Pond get tortured by several of you."

"I'm sure it'd really keep her on her toes if we added you to the program too. Her Ma's always game for holoprogramming too — especially for pranks, so it probably wouldn't take more than putting the idea in her head, and maybe taking her to her favorite Klingon restaurant. Do you eat Klingon?" Sean tilted his head as he asked the last question.

Teá smiled, "I wish you were serving on the Vindicator I mean I love I can call you whenever but......but it's not the same of being able to see you everyday."

"I know, I'd love to be posted on the same ship as you again," Sean returned. "When I'm eligible for a transfer, I'll ask into Vindicator."

This made Teá beam, "well I better head to bed I've got a long day tomorrow. I love you and I'll talk to you soon!" She said blowing a kiss and touching the screen with her fingers.

"Sweet dreams, gorgeous," Sean returned, touching the screen on his end as if to touch Teá's fingers with his own. "Love ya too, and can't wait until next we talk."

"Love you too." Teá said smiling as she killed the link knowing that she always felt a tad depressed after talking to him but the fact that she gets to is huge and helps the sleeping at night. Standing up she headed for bed knowing that the following day was gonna be a long one.
