Mission: In the Dark
Location: Planet

The next morning in the small cramped barracks Indys was packing her bag. Luckily the snow had finally let up a bit which would make the hike to the outlets a bit easier.

On her left thigh was a TR-110 tactical ballistic pistol; rarely seen or used and only used by Marine units. On the center of her chest clipped to her tactical vest was her type 2 hand phaser and finally on her back was her Marine carbine Mk 1 phaser.

Walking outside her Marines were assembled along with a corpsmen. "Where's the Noturan?"

Wesh peeked his head around with a sigh. "You do realize that I am not your personal attache? Just thought I'd point that out. This is kidnapping." The kid yammered on trying to hide his nervousness. Starfleet, and their technology, was so very taboo.

Indys just smirked, "it's more requisitioning you than kidnapping seeing as we're gonna bring you back." She said giving him a smirk. "Let's get going.......Wesh here is gonna lead us to an area that has several outlets my guess is the commander went and took shelter in one of them."

The Noturan blinked and held fast "Hey now! What's in it for me? I could say you took me against my will and that could cause you problems!"

"I would love to see what kind of problems you could create for me." Indys said stepping up to the young man. "And if you don't help us get to those outlets and members of my crew die......you'll have to deal with the problems I can cause for you."

The young delegate puffed up against the threats, standing as tall as he could against the blue Andorian. "You're guests on my planet. We owe you nothing. Maybe you should learn how to ask nicely rather than just attack and demand."

Shrugging, "asking is for the weak." Indys said glaring at the young Noturan. "So now I suggest you start walking." Indys said not really sure what she'll do if he didn't start walking.

Wesh sighed heavily and tugged his tunic closed tightly around him. "Yeah. Whatever, lady." He'd forgotten how important his position was -- how to be professional about it. "Because you have people that are going to die out there, I'll help. Guilty conscience." Women... Sucked.

"Get to walking." Indys said nodding for Jax to stay near him.

"Bite me." He sighed and rolled his eyes, trudging along through the snow.

As he stood by the warmth of the radiating rock, Matt had a chance to think back to his academy days. There were so many lessons he carried to the present day. Never leave a Starfleet officer behind. An officer doesn't lie, cheat, or steal or tolerate those who do. Never insult a Naussican. When separated on an away mission and in distress, stay in place and wait to be rescued.

He took his tricorder and scanned the rock. "This will provide heat for a few more hours. I may be able to recharge it. We need to maintain our current position or the Vindicator crew will never find us."

He took his combadge and, on the back, adjusted the setting to send a broadband distress signal on Federation frequencies. It should help the Vindicator crew find them.....if they were even looking.

The young delegate sighed heavily as he hauled himself up over a snowy stone to the first mouth of the first sandstone cut out. Looking inside there was no trace of anyone or anything. None of the walls or ceiling had been blackened by any camp fire. Ever. And likely with good reason. "Exhibit A." He offered, hearing the Andorian and her party heaving themselves up behind him. "The chain continues on around the butte. A lot of ups and downs."

Taking a look for herself she was satisfied that no one was there or had been there for awhile. "Lead on." Indys said walking back out of the cave. Sighing wanting to get this done with and back to the compound. She was sick of doing SARs on every single member on this away team outside of the 51st apparently the Marines were the only ones that knew how to obey protocol.

He sighed "What am I? A dog?" He shook his head and moved on, tripping over a snow buried log that had fallen from the lone tree at the top of the butte. Nearly going face first into the snow, Wesh was forced to grab onto the rocks and steady himself, casting an irritated look over his shoulder at the blue woman. The rest of the 30 minute climb down to the next cave was done in silence... Silence that gave way to a sigh as the second crevice was found in the same shape as the first; empty.

Indys was getting really annoyed now but as they started turning around one of the bends her antenna started going haywire. "Hold up......I'm getting something."

Jax for whatever reason was always fascinated by Andorian physiology especially the anntena's. "Wesh come back here." Jax said nodding for Edwards to join Indys up front with D'Saish in the middle.

With a grumble and a groan, Wesh huffed off in the direction of the other Marine. "Yes, Master." He grunted, folding his hands under him arm pits for added warmth and a sulk

"There's definetly life around this bend." Indys said.

In the distance, Matt swore he heard voices. He checked his tricorder but there were no readings. The ionization in the atmosphere was badly compromising his scanning ability. He pulled out his phase and signaled to the other members of the group. "Stay here"

Alone, he walked out of the cave and began looking around.

Indys was right around the corner with her Harmonics Crystalline Sword out put out where she was picking up the body signature, "do not move!" She said harshly, "name and rank?"

Caldwell heard the voice, but in that instant he couldn't determine where it was coming from. He found the best cover he could find and replied: "Who the hell are you?"

"You first......" Indys growled her TR-110 pistol out knowing that if she did use it it was for the kill. Seeing as ballistic pistols didn't have handy-dandy stun setting.

"This is Commander Caldwell of the USS Vindicator."

"Staff Sergeant Indys sh'Ziri, 51st Recon Unit, USS Vindicator." Indys said after confirming the name and rank.

After everything was confirmed and that the security detail was looked over for any injuries they headed out and made for camp which was a much easier trip back. And once back in camp the corpsmen tended to any minor injuries and helped worked on getting the heated back up.
