"ATTENTION ALL HANDS, IN ENGINEERING. This is Chief Engineer Chatham Wayne Fuller, Commander Engineering Corps. After reviewing the construction, preventative, & maintenance, logs I found some things that that require immediate attention and training. While not in combat, we will be doing "B.E.C.C.E.'s" acronymed as "BECKYs" or Basic Engineering Casualty Control Exercises. These exercises will help ALL of us get better with speed and accuracy during battle repairs. When I think we are doing better with that we will, continue to do them and, we will add in "AECCE's" acronymed "Ackys" or Advanced Engineering Casualty Control Exercises. These advanced exercises will take our skill to, what I like to call almost "Scotty" levels. Along with these exercises with be courses taught by myself, & holo courses to teach us more knowledge & techniques. We will even dissect actual situations as recorded throughout history.

There are those of you now on watch that may not be able to hear this, but it will be available in your next pre-shift briefing. These briefings will add to your turn overs to increase each watches awareness of the situation. Basic format of turnovers from now on is: What has went on, what is going on, what will go on, & anything else as reminders.

Division Officers there is a meeting in the main engineering office immediately following this announcement for your information and indoctrination. I look forward to working with all of you. That is all from the CEO chair. Be safe & do it right the first time. That is all."

=/\= Main Engineering Office 10 minutes later =/\=
"Greeting Engineering Officers of USS Vindicator." A young very new ensign begins to clap and stops, while looking around. Then Fuller begins to clap. "Hell, yeah. Clap, get excited. That is what we should be. We should be fired up. We should be passionate about what we do. We should be excited to be here. This is what we wanted to do in Star Fleet." Chatham stops clapping. Looks to the ensign. "Don't ever be afraid to be yourself. Chart your own path, but listen to those that have been there before you & you'll do fine."

"As officers you will be required to know the job of every officer, petty officer, & fireman below you. Then when you can pass those boards you will sit on boards & continue to increase your knowledge. Push the edges of what we know. Just because we are not wearing blue does not mean we are not scientists of a certain regard. We are Engineering scientists. As a scientist of sorts, will I go up into the science lab & tell them they are wrong, hell no. We are engineers. But we will be gracious when we have non-engineers in the space. This ship is ours & we will keep her in more than tip top condition. The tech specs are minimum standards we will exceed where possible & meet to the tee where applicable. We may not be the pride, but without us the pride don't ride."

Points to a Lcdr. "Lt. Cmdr O' Reilly. What speed are we at?" He starts to pull out a PADD. "STOP" command Fuller. "If you can't tell me by the vibration of the deck plates and any other indication you have then we need to get up to that level of knowledge of the ship. We need to use the technology as tools not crutches. We are Star Fleet engineers. We need to be 'THE' expert in all things engineering. It's not a slight on you O'Reilly, you were just the sacrificial lamb. Now, we all will learn from that situation & move on. That will happen when any situation happens. We all will learn from it and move on and remember it. Not crucify the unfortunate being that it happens to. Any questions? Alight, it will take you all a bit to get used to me, but we will work well together. Training syllabuses & schedules are in your professional PADD."

Another Lt. Cmdr raised his hand. "Sir" he said, very curtly. "Your Star Fleet record says you were gone from Star Fleet for 5 years. What makes you qualified to be here, on this ship of all ships as the CHIEF ENGINEER?" The whole room was a mumble with oooohs & ahhhs & a couple interstellar expletives of surprise. Fuller just smiled and nodded. "Do you know you would not have access to my record unless I released to someone of lower rank without need to know?" The officer got a little flustered, while attempt to maintain his composure thinking he'd got something special. "I released it because we need to know each other. You need to know who you are working with and for. Also if you check the file there a span of three years I held the rank of Captain of the Texas rangers. In those years I assisted "THE" modern engineering legend Captain Lance R. Violator, who was in command of the USS Griffin-C, on the Planet New Texas against some rogue Jem H'adar. You will also notice a gap in there before that a gap of 6 months where I was unaccounted for. Let's just say not even Section 31 could find me as they weren't 'in time' to find me. I don't put this out to brag or to show you up commander. It's to prove the point my Star Fleet file is open so you know my experience. You know where I've been what I've done. I mean I have all info available for everyone in engineering right now. Some of you I look forward to playing some cards with later others we will have long talks and we ALL will become a team that not even the legendary Enterprise crews of old will be able to rival. We are in this together. Have a question ask & keep asking one of us will eventually remember. Now any further question? Fuller looked around. By the way O' Reilly it was six years and we are travelling at warp 5.27. Have the watch check the dilithium matrix for fissures in the number three chamber. Alright. It's a lot to take in." Chatham's left had started to feel funny, tingle and vibrate a bit. Chatham knew it was time to check in with medical & get his treatments started. "Dismissed!"

With that Fuller stood & waited for everyone to depart before he tapped his com badge. +TAP+ Fuller to medical. Please have the Chief Medical Officer meet me in main medical. I need to introduce myself.

The corpsman on duty said, "Sir, we have your records. We don't need to see you. Unless you have a situation. Then of course we can see you immediately."

Chatham's whole arm was feeling the same as his hand now. "Thanks corpsman, But I require CMO's presence in main medical. Relay to the CMO it's Cmdr. Chatham Wayne Fuller, Star Fleet Medical code CF-3081. They will understand. Fuller out." +TAP+

Chatham's Combadge chirped. "Commander Fuller, this is Bandit. Your vital signs show you experiencing an onset of Chrono-phase disorder. Recommend emergency beam out to medical."

"That won't be necessary, Bandit. I'm heading to Vindicator Medical. Continue to monitor vitals. Verify you sent my Original Star Fleet medical records to the Vindicator CMO of this universe & time period."

"Verified, and they have been reviewed." Bandit answered

"That is all, Fuller out." Chase began the long walk to medical from main engineering Deck 25 to Medical Deck 3.
