Mission: Secret Meetings
Location: Shuttle Bay 3

=*= Shuttle Bay 3, USS Vindicator =*=

With the wreckage in the shuttle bay and a Marine squad was guarding it. Tripae took a moment to look over the large pile of rubble from the catwalk amazed at how much there was. "Lione to Dah'el could you come down to shuttle bay 3 with a team of engineers."

"On my way." Almar replied with a slight smile as he stepped through the door and grabbed his toolkit, "Crewman Fallon, Kro and Weir, you're with me," he said as he gave a nod to the three engineers.

As she Tripae waited she just looked at the wreckage for her Marine spidy sense going off like crazy and she was sure.....well she knew that Keggle's was always going off, but she also knew that Ellis was as well which made for a very itchy Marine contingent which wasn't always a good thing.

A few minutes was all it took and the four Engineers stepped through the doors of the shuttlebay, the wreckage was centre stage and awaiting their analysis, "Captain Lione, I assume this is the remains?"

"It is and you've complete access. The captain wants answers so be thorough." Triape said giving the commander a nod.

"I can guarentee that," the Cardassian replied with a slight wink as he placed his toolkit down on the deck next to the hulk, his engineers following suit on each side of it, slowly he flipped open the lid and took out several tools, slipping them into various pockets. "How did the wreckage react when it began to be affected by the artificial gravity?"

"Here's the footage of them bringing it in along with scans as it was being brought in as well." Tripae said.

After watching the footage a couple of times, the Cardassian ran his hands over his hair and pulled out one of the myriad of tricorders attached to his belt, "Kro, scan the main struts of the rear section, when it was released from the tractor they buckled, I want to know if they were weakened in the blast or before."

Kro gave a nod towards Dahe'el as he scanned the rear section of the wreckage, "You have sharp eyes sir, one of the main structural supports shows sign of degradation which could not have been caused in the blast, the rest just show blast damage."

Tripae watched as they worked she actually didn't need to be here but she wanted to watch them. It would give her a better idea what to expect in the report.

Almar strode back over to the wreckage and holstered his tricorder again, using his large arms to wrench open some of the plating that used to form the hull of the ship before pulling out a cutting tool and taking small samples of the alloy.

"Captain Lione, I assume you're knowledgeable about explosives and their effects?" the Cardassian asked as he pulled a crossbeam free and laid it out on the deck.

"I do." Tripae said seeing as she worked on a EOD team before moving over to combat informations.

"Take a look at the blast patterns on this beam, you have the main one, which is comparable with all the others in this compartment, they were caused by elements we'd expect in the ship." Almar replied as he pointed it out and traced it with his finger, "But look closer to the centre, where you would expect a heavy blast, what can you see?"

"Something was there." She said pointing at center where he was looking at, "I would assume the explosive but what kind've explosive can not leave a residue?"

"It has left something, its only slight because of the main blast, but there was a smaller one designed to weaken the structure and cause a failure." the Cardassian replied as he scanned it with his tricorder, coming up with a few results, "It doesn't appear to be a standard explosive, I'm detecting traces of oxidation, it appears to be a corrosive agent."

Lione nodded, "if this was the work of the Vanguard that's devious seeing as this entire runabout would've been shrapnel and the weakening of that beam would've made it easier."

"I don't know much about the Vanguard, but it doesn't seem like their work," the Cardassian replied as he cut a section from the beam and placed it in a casing to be analysed further, "For all we know, it could be Romulan, Tholian, Cardassian, until we find some trace elements that we can link, we won't know."

Tripae nodded, "let me know if you need anymore support with anything."

"Will do Captain," Almar replied as he continued working on taking samples for analysis.
