Te`shara was on rounds, walking the ship, checking out different areas, still learning her way, and what not. She got on the turbolift and called for Sickbay, she rode the lift, and got off on deck three, as she wanted to meet the new doctor, she had read through the ships personnel files and noted that he to was Caitian. Te`Shara had thought she was the only Caitian on the Vindicator, she thought wrong. So as she got off the lift, she walked around to Sickbay to see the new Chief Medical Officer from Cait. "Knock knock, anyone here, its your neighborhood Security Caitian, Lieutenant Te'shara R'heil." She said with a smile on her face, just to be friendly to the new medical officer.

Keál was just coming out of the medical storage bay when he heard the familiar cadence of another Caitian voice. From the crew records he knew there was a security officer aboard from his species though he had yet to meet her. He stepped through the door to his office and met the golden eyed security officer face to face.

"Hello Lieutenant," Keál said as he moved further into his office studying the brown fur covered female. "What can I do for you?"

Te'shara looked at the new Caitian in his office,"I just came in to introduce myself. I am Lieutenant Te'shara R'heil, resident crazy security officer, at your service." she said with a smile on her face tail and whiskers twitching. "So who are you? Whats your name Doc?" she asked him.

"My name...," Keál said confusedly, "Keál is my name and it is a pleasure to meet you, Lieutenant R'heil. I was just about to make my rounds, would you like to accompany me? It would give us an opportunity to get better acquainted."

Te'shara looked at him,"sure why not,"she said with a slight purr. She liked to meet new crew members. She was, however, surprised to meet another Caitian."So do you have any other relatives on Cait? Hey I was wondering, have you heard of the Caitian pirate ship, SS Kaittan? It's a pirate ship run by my relatives and friends." She smiled at him. "To'mar is the captain he's Caitian to." She said.

Keál was bewildered by the speed at which she was firing questions at him and with many being abstract. Keál had been born and lived on Cait for nearly eighteen years and he had never heard of Caitian pirates. "My parents still live on Cait and I have a sister and two brothers there as well. I can't say that I have ever heard of Caitian pirates or the SS Kaittan, though."

Keál led the Caitian lieutenant through the massive and empty sickbay and out the forward door toward the isolation wards. "Have you spent much time here on deck three?"

Te'shara looked at the doc."I haven't spent much time on deck three. I'm still getting to know my way around the ship."

Te'shara still looking at him continued her train of thought,"Well, the pirates were formed by some relatives and friends of mine, and To'mar named the ship the SS-Kaittan, they been riding for a while."she said to him, "there's only a few of them, but they are trying to get more crew. He doesn't care what race they are, Caitian, Klingon, Vulcan, Ferengi, Romulan, and etcetera... So, those are my friends the crew of a mighty ship. I'll have to show you the picture of their ship, sometime."

Te'shara said to Keál as they continued to walk. "I too have all my family on Cait. My one sister Mewr`Lar, who wants to get back in Starfleet. She misses it. She was on a starbase, called Frontiers, she was Security on there, I have other family on Cait as well, my parents." she finished.

Keál was intrigued by the prospect of pirate Caitians with a makeshift crew of misfits, and made a mental note of asking more about them. "Sadly I don't spend much time anywhere else but deck three." Keál made his way down the passageway toward the labs where he needed to check on the incubation of a few viral cultures. "So, you hail from a family of Starfleet officers. I am the only member of my family ever to leave Cait, let alone to join Starfleet. It caused some friction but my family came around in the end, though they still refer to me as, "The Doctornaut" back home."

They arrived at the lab that had been Keál's destination and he quickly punched in his authorization code allowing access to the restricted area. From a layman's point of view the room as very white and very empty save one workbench with a medical stasis field around it. "This is a viral culture I've been studying. This virus has a number of medical properties that can help to increase blood flow and restore circulation, however, in it's present state it also weakens arterial walls and causes internal bleeding. My goal is to replicate the good aspects of the virus while removing the harmful ones."

"Enough about this though. Tell me about yourself, Lieutenant." Keál said as he lead the way back out of the lab.

Te`shara looked at the Doc,"That's very interesting, the virus. I'm glad you explained it to me."she said. "As for me, I'm from Cait, started off, on the SS Kaittan, for a while while my sister, Mer'Lar was in Starfleet. Then I left the Kaittan, to go to Starfleet, why, I don't know." She said. "I guess I was following my sister Mer'Lar. But my friends on the Kaittan missed me, a lot. I send them letters via the ships computer, but I do miss my home on Cait."So do you miss your home on Cait?"she said to Keál.

"I sometimes miss the open spaces of the ranch I grew up on, but I have been away for almost as long as I was there. This ship is my home for now, just as Earth was my home when I was at the Academy or at Starfleet Medical. I have always been a loner I guess. Unlike my litter mates, I spent more time studying than socializing."

As they left the lab they headed back in the direction of Main Sickbay. "Have you seen the rehabilitation holodecks? This ship has six of them for medically exclusive use."

Te'shara smiled,"oooh holodecks, I love going to them. When I get in I load a Caitian program I have, that shows me home, and some of the neighbors its really neat. Then I go in this one town and start hanging in a pub with the gang of the SS Kaittan." she said to him. "i'll have to get some holodeck time in on my time off." she said as she kept walking.

Keál and Te'shara rounded the last curve of the outer passageway and walked into an office group. "I have to give a lecture here tomorrow for the shipboard training program. Diversity in Anatomy is the topic." Keál said as he walked through the door of the port lecture hall. "I'm going to head back to my office, check sickbay and then head to the Officers Mess for some kibbles." Keál grinned at the Earthly reference he just made. "It has been a pleasure to meet you, Te'shara, please don't be a stranger."

Te'shara smiled,"it was nice meeting you too, and i wont be a stranger, Maybe sometime, you and I can have kibbles together, and a Caitian Tongue Tickler, in the mess hall. How about that, and we can share things about the home world."she said with a smile.

Keál smiled his first full on Caitian smile since his Academy days, being in company that would not think he was about to eat them. "I look forward to it, Lieutenant." Keál walked Te'shara to the turbolift. "Until the next time." The lift doors opened and Keál left Te'shara for the safety of his office.
