Mission: In the Dark

Teá was back in her quarters after being relieved of her babysitting duties. It was stressful mainly because of the reason she was given, particularly knowing that there could be people on board that couldn't be trusted, but it didn't help that Ivanova didn't want to be watched. Sighing she picked up the picture of her and Sean in Jamaica. "Alright, I can do this," Teá said, whispering to herself, as she input the proper communications code to get connected with Sean.

Sean Morgan had just gotten off duty. He was planning to hit the holodeck for some rugby, eat a good dinner, and then maybe go to bed early so he could take some extra time in the gym before his duty shift the next morning. He'd just slid out of his uniform and tugged on his rugby shorts when his com chirped at him. He accepted the call as he settled in his chair and tugged his rugby shirt over his head.

"G'evenin', Gorgeous," he greeted Teá with a smile.

Teá smirked, glad to see his smiling boyish face. "Sorry," was what popped out of Teá's mouth before she even realized what she was saying. "Okay, that wasn't how I wanted to start off but I've been owing you that since the last time we spoke."

"Y' seemed a biteen knackered, the last time we talked. Are you doin' better now?" Sean was certainly not worried about receiving an apology, he was just worried about Teá. Between the way she'd acted last time, and the evidence of abuse that decorated her body, there was no other way about it but to be worried.

"No..." Teá hesitated and took a deep breath, "but I'm getting there, and with Pond's help, I'll be there."

"Pond's help?" Sean cocked an eyebrow, leaning forward in his chair. "What's Pond got t' do with it?"

"She understands the position I'm in when I talk to you," Teá said looking at him, "I mean, do you realize how many lies I've told to you?" Teá asked seriously.

"'Cause of your intel stuff, yeah?" He asked with a soft frown. "I didn't want t' ask, afraid of what you'd say. I knew that y' were givin' me guff, but I also knew it was 'cause of your job."

Teá took a deep breath, she hated this. "Yes, my intel stuff. I never meant for my job to cause this rift between us, or have it cause me to shut down and shut you out." Teá said this almost bitterly; the bitterness wasn't aimed at Sean, but at herself for allowing it to do exactly what she didn't want it to do.

"So, what are y' doin' about it?" His smile faded a little, but he was still smiling at her. "Is there any way for me to help?"

"Be here with me so you can hold me." Teá smirked, feeling a single tear run down her cheek. "For the time being, Pond has someone I can speak to, to help me work through all of this and help me find a way to be open with you without me breaking my vows to my duties."

"We'll take some leave again, when we can," he promised. "And you call me whenever y'need." Sean thought a moment, the repeated mention of Pond in the conversation worried him a little. "Did Pond talk t' ya? She wasn't too harsh or nothin', was she? She gets protective, something fierce."

Teá smiled a little and brushed away the other tears that had fallen onto her cheek. "I know I can, and I don't know about leave again with the civil war," Teá said shaking her head, "and no, Pond just helped me see what I would be missing if I screwed things up with you."

"We'll do what we can, it just may not be anywhere nice as Jamaica or Ireland this time," he insisted. "Besides, I might be able to talk Pond's Da' into pulling strings for us." Sean winked.

Teá smiled, thinking of the chance to be in Sean's arms again. "Anything that'll get us to be together would be great."

"I'll do me best, Gorgeous, I don't know how long it'll take, or where we'll go, but I'll do me best," he assured her.

"You know you're my everything, right?" Teá asked, looking at him and smiling for the first time in what felt like ages. It felt weird and good all at the same time.

Sean broke out in an infectious grin ear to ear. The smile on her face, along side what she said, made him happy. He knew she cared, and he'd been worried with the way she'd been lately, but knowing she was working on it, and that there was a smile to be still found on her face, it reassured him.

"D'ya remember how we met?" he asked, feeling the answer to her question was clear without being said.

"What kind of question is that? Of course I remember, I arrested you for public intoxication and stopped you from getting into a brawl with a Klingon. Which by the way, you would've gotten you ass kicked," Teá said, trying to stop herself from laughing out loud.

"But before the Klingon!" Sean protested, slumping back in his chair with a hand wave.

"You were singing and following me," Teá said trying to remember what the song was. "And I believe I almost punched you to get you to stop singing." Teá added giggling.

"Y'did no such thing!" Sean insisted, laughing. "It was Thin Lizzy, Dancin' in the Moonlight. When I passed you in the doorway,
Well you took me with a glance
." Sean started singing at her.

This brought tears of joy to Teá. "Thank you," she said softly as she wiped tears away again.

"Anythin' for you, Gorgeous," Sean returned, smiling wide again.

Looking at her chronometer, and hearing her stomach growl, Teá smirked. "Well I better let you go anyways, I need go get something to eat. Maybe hit the gym afterwards."

"Right, I should be able to catch most of me time in the holodeck for Rugby still, then dinner for me too," he returned with a nod. "Talk to you soon, Love ya."

"Love you too!" Teá smiling, feeling like a huge weight had been lifted off of her. "I'll call you again in a few days." She added.
