Mission: A Spot To Kill
Location: Intelligence

= V =

This time Teá was the first one to arrive back at the small out of the way intelligence department between no orders from Starfleet Intelligence and no orders from ship command Teá wasn't really sure what to do. "What the hell," Teá muttered to herself as she tapped a few buttons and brought anything and everything that the Federation knew about the Atlantean's.

Arriving at Intel for the start of her shift, Rocky entered her code and headed to the cryptanalysis office, pausing as she saw the Jay Gee she had met the day before. Giving her a nod, she looked over the Lieutenant's shoulder and arched an eyebrow as she saw the information on the screen.

Scanning through the data Teá head the chirp of the computer authorizing someone to enter, "morning ensign." Teá said without looking up as she continued to scan the data trying to piece somethings together.

"Good morning, Lieutenant," Rocky said. "That's a rather unusual search parameter you have going. I know our work requires unlocking the lost and unusual, but isn't Atlantis a Terran myth?"

Shrugging Teá looked up from what she was reading, "don't know never paid attention to Earth mythology. But do you remember ever hearing this man's name Mikkal he is or was a Atlantean Emissary."

"How can someone be an Emissary from a mythological place?" Rocky asked, wondering where the lieutenant's line of thought was going.

"Ensign the place isn't a mythological place it's actual planet with living species." Teá said frustrated that there was such little information on them. Hell they had more intel on the damn Tholians they're the most isolationist of any of the species that the Federation have encountered.

"I've not heard of them," Rocky said. "When did the Federation make contact?"

"According to this 2401 a rear admiral Archer was the one to reach Atlantis Prime." Teá said scrolling through some of the text.

"Hmm. Are we on a mission related to them, or a personal curiosity?" Rocky asked her, wondering when they'd be getting briefed on the mission.

Tapping a few more buttons Teá brought up the Vindi's course, "according to this it's where we're heading. And right before I left the Vindi and at the end of the civil war that Atlantean Emissary Mikkal was also on board." Teá said leaving what Sean told her.

"I better get caught up to speed in that case," Rocky replied, her brow furrowing momentarily. "So far, I haven't received any information on our mission."

"No this is off the books research for right now. We won't make any official inquests until we get orders. Is that understood ensign." Teá said glaring at the young idealistic women realizing this could backfire quickly if it wasn't done right.

"Yes, Sir," Rocky said, wondering what crawled up the Jay Gee's backside and made itself at home. "If you'll excuse me, I think I'll get settled in my office, unless you need me for something."

Looking over where the encrypto-zombies worked she just nodded, "while you're over there see if you can the name Mikkal listed anywhere; news, reports, gossip anything and everything that you can think of without using a formal inquest."

"Yes, Sir," Rocky said before turning and heading to her terminal. Sitting down, she began to use the Intel systems backdoors and unofficial channels in her search. As yet, she had no idea what the purpose was, but she figured that Ensigns weren't meant to know. Shrugging, she settled into her work and waited for results.

As she combed the database Teá was getting more and more of a better picture of who they were dealing with. "Absolute monarchy with a interesting connections with the Greco-Roman culture very similar to what the Romulan's have." She mumbled as she read tapping a few buttons and sending over what she found to the ensign, "interesting planet never seen this much quartz or marble."

Meanwhile, Rocky had been busy as well. She turned over her shoulder. "There is a medical report on a Atlantean named Mikkal in the Medical database. There isn't much info on them, but they are a gold-based lifeform with bronze skin, white-blonde hair, and extremely tall."

"Does it say who treated him?" Teá asked checking the security logs at least the public ones.

"Hmm. Seems he was there for a broken jaw, broken neck, multiple facial lacerations, and a ruptured eyeball," Rocky said as she continued to look at the record. "Someone did a number on him. He never woke up. The CMO signed off on the treatment. There's no record of him after that."

Noticing there was a security attachment she opened it and it was vague it listed the commodore as the victim of an attack by Mikkal but that was it. Oh my god........ "Ensign stop your research now. And do not do anything else or speak of this to anyone until I give you further orders."

Rocky rolled her eyes, but cleared her search and backed out of the system she had accessed. "Is this standard operating procedure in Intel, Lieutenant?" she asked, turning to look at the Jay Gee.

Teá glared at her, "we've done nothing wrong but if you continue to push I can't help you. So do as I say, clear?"

"I wasn't aware of the fact that I was pushing anything, Sir." Rocky said, her tone making it sound like cur. She wondered briefly if the Jay Gee was on some form of mind altering substances that hadn't been documented. "You told me to do something, I did it. You said to stop, I stopped. Have I committed a breach of protocol, Sir?"

"Just do what you're told ensign." Teá said trying to think of what her next move should be.

'Yes, Sir," Rocky responded before turning back to the algorithms that made a lot more sense than the Jay Gee.
