423 words; about a 2 minute read

Mission: Memorias Rotundum
Location: Sciences Office

Saia rubbed her temples looking at the report she was composing. So many things had been repaired, so many things in progress, and so many things yet to be repaired. It was going along according to schedule, but the scanners were up to standard, even a little above standard, but with all of the essential and some non essential systems in the Science labs working, all it would do is take a higher priority task to take Engineering help away and delay them.

One of the lowest priorities was the archive scanner. She sighed, realizing there was plenty left to do in way of repairs, so she wouldn't have problems keeping busy. And no one would fault her for working twenty-four-seven to get her department back in order.

Nara was the least obnoxious in begging her to take time off. She was also the only one successful in getting her to get to the messhall to eat for about fifteen minutes (even though she tried to get Saia to stay an hour). Saia knew Nara wouldn't push her. They could sit in silence and it was ok.

Kevin was obviously growing tired of it all. He tried, but gave up. The times Saia went to clean up, Kevin said he had to get to Engineering. Saul and his wife kept pestering her most of all.

But she felt she got plenty of rest while she composed reports sitting in her office. Hearing the swoosh of the door, she looked up confused. She had kept it locked. Her eyes widened in fear as she caught sight of who was standing there.

Before she could fully realize, though, he was across the room over her desk and grabbing her neck, forcing her to stand and move around the desk. She saw his arrogant and sadistic smirk as he reached down.

She didn't dare look down as she heard the sound of the fabric coming undone. His hands still tightly around her neck, he sat down and forced her to kneel between his knees.

She had squeezed her eyes tight at this point, feeling the sharp pain on her scalp as he pulled her hair with one hand and pushing it with the other.

A sharp gasp and abruptly sitting up, confused her. Her blinking eyes furrowed as she looked around. Realizing it was a dream, she took a deep breath and took a glance to be sure her office was locked and did an internal scan to see if anyone was in there besides her.
