As he made it to his quarters after finishing his workout in the gym, Rael's communication badge went off, "petty officer Rayya could you please come down to the AMO (Atomic, Molecular, and Optical Physics) - oh and this is lieutenant Alexia Ducati."

"Aye lieutenant I'll be down in 10." Rael said hoping that was okay for the science officer.

"Of course petty officer." Alexia said cutting the connection as she started looking over her work. Walking in Rael tossed his bag on the bed noticing that Ela must be down in a science lab somewhere. Smirking as he headed for the shower figuring that he should get the ocean smell off of him before heading down.

"Lieutenant Ducati?" Rael asked one of the scientist down in the AMO lab. He pointed back to a white room which looked like a holosuite, "lieutenant Ducati?"

"In here petty officer," Alexia said as she concentrated on the calculations she was working on, "I've noticed you haven't picked a project yet?" Alexia smirked feeling much better being back on the ship. "Have you ever worked in this kind of lab before?"

"No I haven't ma'am but I have done some light or basic reading on what you guys do down here." Rael said looking at the Alexia, "but never truly understood everything that you do." Alexia nodded tapping a few buttons causing the room to go dim as a space dropped appeared along with a ripple like if you dropped a rock in a clam pond.

"I've been working on finding ways to pin cloaked ships without looking or scanning for tachyon admissions. My theory is that even the faintest light sources causes the light around the cloaked vessel to fragment causing a ripple in space." Alexia said shutting down the simulator and brining the lights back to normal levels.

"But wouldn't they need to pass by a light source in the just the right manner to see the ripples?" Rael asked now very intrigued by this idea.

"Ideally with the way the sensors work you'll get a full view but you're right that only certain angels well catch the ripples." Alexia said, "and that's what I'm working on now is working on a program that'll detect said ripples and display them. This is where I was hoping your expertise on Marine based scanning equipment might come in handy."

Rael nodded, "I'll need to look at the specs and see if there is anything that would be useful in this situation," Rael said taking a second to think, "would almost be good idea to see if the tactical sensors would be more effective than the base sensors seeing as they're trained to located moving targets." Rael suggested.

Alexia took a second to think about if it was doable and would a)command, tactical, engineering and ops allow it and b) would it give her what she needed. "I want you to speak with tactical, operations and engineering about how those sensors work especially the tracking part," Alexia said making some notes on how to get her simulator to represent what she hoped would be a good show and tell piece.

"Of course I'll just need to some research first so I can go in prepared." Rael said looking at the lieutenant excited to be apart of his first project as a science mate. Alexia just nodded before going back to work.
