Mission: Agua Mala
Location: After Dark Lounge

Teá was sitting at a table near the large windows and one that was facing the doors and had her back facing a bulkhead, {old habits die hard. I guess.} Teá thought looking at the spinning picture of the DNA. There was one person she could get into contact with to help her figure out why this was sent to her but it was a big risk. The spinning DNA helix put Teá into a trance-like state everything in the lounge was just background noise nothing mattered but the DNA helix.

Amelia strolled up to the table, and set down her plate that was piled high with a burger and french fries. She stood waiting for Teá to notice her standing over the table.

There was something about the helix that was perplexing and yet very soothing as Teá just stared at it again as everything else was just background noise and didn't matter.

Amelia sat down and started eating her burger, still waiting for Teá to notice her.

The sound of the chair, the vibrations of the chair being pulled out or any of the other things that could pull one from a trance-like state. "Wha....what the hell?" Teá asked seeing Pond sitting across from her, "when did you sit down?"

"Just now, after standing there for like a good ten minutes waiting for you to notice me," Amelia answered, then took another bite of her burger. "Sean tells me you told him what happened."

Quickly turning the PaDD off and slipping it into her bag Teá looked up, "yeah. It's the best thing I can do after screwing up. Hell me not talking was what almost ended our relationship in the first place and he deserves better." Teá said with a smile, "I'm surprised he hasn't talked to you yet."

"I caught him headed on duty, so the conversation was little more than Hey Pond, Teá told me about the incident. Gotta run." She collected a french fry from her plate, and considered it a long moment. "Out of curiosity, what did you tell him?"

"Everything or at least everything that wasn't classified." Teá said with a shrug.

"That's always an entertaining song and dance with him. He likes to ask awkward questions sometimes, ones you can't answer without telling him all sorts of classified things," Amelia observed with a head shake. "He's starting to get better though. Did he pry?"

'No not really I think we're both getting better at knowing what a) I can talk about and how much of it I can talk about and b) not prying or at least understanding that prying wasn't gonna work." Teá said with a smile, "and if I haven't yet thank you for suggesting the counselor if you hadn't I don't know what would have happened with us or even what would've happened to me."

"The challenge in life is always knowing when you need to reach out for help." A shrug and another bite of her burger punctuated this statement. "And I hope you're planning on talking about what happened between you and Archer with your counsellor, to make sure you learned everything you can. I want to see you succeed, but you live and die on this ship at Archer's word since you're here in the capacity of Intel."

"I promise," Teá said, "but I don't think my personality and Archer's is gonna mix well I think we're gonna butt-heads on almost everything." Teá added and shrugged, "but than again that's been my career in Starfleet."

"It's hard when you don't see eye to eye with a superior, but in the end, he out ranks you. You need to find a productive way to respectfully tell him when you disagree." Amelia sighed.

Teá nodded rubbing her eyes life just kept throwing curve balls at her. "I know but still getting used to the fact I actually have to report to someone."

"You know I know that pain, but it is something that must be done." Amelia sighed, pushing her plate aside and leaning forward onto her elbows. "Outside field work, the predictability of the rank and file, the chain of command, is what allows these ships to run like clockwork. Not butting heads with Archer isn't just about showing him respect, it's about respecting your crew mates enough to recognize that being the hyperspanner in the plamsa flow will get people killed."

Teá nodded setting her hands back down on the table, "I know and everyday it's becoming more and more apparent of that fact." She said finally looking up from her hands still seeing the DNA helix, "so enough about me. How have you been doing?"

"I've been okay... busy, but okay." Amelia sat up, collecting her plate again. "Been adjusting to cohabitating, sort of, and I have a little green fox thing with horns as a pet."

"You and the master chief?" Teá asked with a twinkle in her eye, "all the time I've known you I don't think I've ever heard of a signifiant other for you."

"You didn't notice Terry and I on Griffin?" Amelia eyed Teá, and shook her head.

"Sorry," Teá said with a small smirk, "I was pretty pre-occupied with Sean and watching Danny for intelligence."

"Ah," Amelia said simply, tapping at the edge of her plate. "Well, I'm glad you decided to be up front with Sean. Excuse me, I probably should finish this with the paperwork I need to wrap up." Amelia collected her plate as she stood.

"Oh......of course," Teá said looking at the chronometer, "and I better head back to work as well."

"See you around," Amelia said with a nod. "And take some time to think on what I said. I think it'll help." She half-smiled encouragingly before she turned to head out.
