| General Overview | Born into a line of politicians and diplomats dating back to the pre-warp days of Earth, Markus' family on his father's side has a mild obsession with historical figures, periods and events. Named after a Roman emperor and one of the lifebeds of human civilization, it was assumed by Antony Locke that Markus would find a place in history himself. It was with great dissatisfaction, then, when Markus' pursued the field of Operations and Technical support instead of joining the diplomatic corps of Starfleet. For Antony's son to be a mere cog in the machine rather than at the forefront of it's direction, it was an embarrassment for the family. For Markus, however, it was the first chance he had to shed off the family legacy and seek out a path of his own. Ever a student of history, Markus understood that the great historical figures never followed the paths laid out for them, but brazenly found their own frontier to tread. |
