Mission: Secret Meetings
Location: Sickbay
Timeline: Minutes after "Just a moment"

=/\= Sickbay =/\=

Neyes strolled into the large Vindicator Hospital with King. The shear size of just about every major dept on the ship was never more impressive than with the layout of the Sickbay. Rows upon rows of biobeds all lined several mediating walls, which led into two major surgical tables, and multiple private rooms. The new officer, Ivanova, was standing with the Doc just outside one of those rooms. Landon started towards them.

"And remember, Commander Ivanova, if you start feeling queezy, call the infirmary immediately. And suck on that lollipop, those electrolytes are goo--"

"Doctor. She going to live? I'd like to ask the Commander some questions." Neyes said as he approached. The fiery young woman's hair was slightly more a mess than it had been while she was on her runabout. "And where's the other man that was with you?"

Carrie turned with a blink, for a second her brain making the transition between being annoyed at the interruption and recognizing the speaker. "Oh, hello. You're the Commander who bumped into something ugly. I don't think I introduced myself last time, I'm Doctor Rofer," she assumed a somewhat protective stance and took a step in front of Rochelle, folding her arms across her chest. "The Commander behind me,"
((All these Commanders everywhere, how the hell do they know who should answer when someone calls--))
"-- is off duty and on strict bed rest by Doctor's orders. You can ask her any question you would like in," she looked at her watch, "eleven hours and thirty two minutes. She has a note," she pointed finally at the PADD she gave Ivanova and lifted her head up to attempt to stare down (up) Neyes. "It says so."

Ellis just smirked knowing full well that Neyes wasn't gonna give up that easily. "Doc I don't think that's gonna stop the commander from speaking with the other commander."

Neyes could feel his brow rise, "A note?"

Carrie huffed dismissively. "My Doctor title beats your Commander rank. Come back in 12 hours."

"Here, Sir." Hawthorne seemingly appeared from nowhere, a large bandage crossing over his forehead. He presented a PaDD to Neyes and came to a dutiful stance next to Rochelle. "Here are our transfer orders, ...Captain."

Landon almost cringed at the title. "Ah." He gave Ivanova a look, essentially prompting her to speak.

Ellis stood next to Landon with his hand resting on top of the grip of his Type 2 phaser knowing that nothing would happen but hell you never knew with everything that's been happening.

Sitting on the bio-bed, Rochelle looked from the doctor to Landon and the budding rise of his cohorts. The Vindicator's finest coming to view her in her sheet and tattered uniforms. Her mouth was pursed in a thin, grim line as her eyes went from person to person with scrutiny and vague glints of interest beginning to play in their fathomless frozen depths. "I'll do more than live, Commander Neyes." She replied, nearly in an indignant huff as she kept her smarting ribs and other aches and pains to a minimum. "I'd get up to greet you properly but I may give you a better show than you paid for."

Ellis caught her attention next forcing a wry little smile to tug at the fullness of her lips and her head to shake slightly, "Relax, jarhead, if I wanted you all dead I wouldn't have gotten myself blown up in the process of trying to protect you."

"Protocol ma'am." Ellis said looking at the women, "I don't know you so I'm not gonna be taking any chances."

"That's what I'm trying to do," Carrie huffed, more to herself than anyone else. This entire Starfleet bravado business was extremely confusing. Had this happened on Earth, her word was carved in stone and manifested by magic inside her own hospital. Here, though... here...

"Heel, Captain." Neyes grumbled to King.

"Wait, eh!" Carrie exhaled in exasperation, "EXCUSE me! You are supposed to be lying horizontally under a cranial reconstruction unit for the next hour," she pointed at Hawthorne in sheer terror, which grew even wider when she realized she was being ignored.

Neyes watched the Doctor's mild meltdown with rampant disbelief. "Rochelle Ivanova. I need to know what you saw when you intercepted that runabout."

Slowly the redhead slid the electrolyte lollipop out from between her lips and scoffed softly in Ellis' direction, her eyes rolling before settling back on Neyes. "Normally I'd agree with what the Doc has to say, but somehow I doubt you'd accept that as an answer which means I'd be stuck here longer. " Her head shook, "Not exactly how I want to spend the rest of my evening, especially when you have John Wayne over there with an itchy trigger finger." Rochelle gestured with her aching head in the direction of Ellis and reached to drag Hawthorne to sit beside her before the doctor could start foaming at the mouth.

"We," She gestured between Hawthorne and herself, "Saw the shuttle hauling ass in your direction and attempted to hail it while in pursuit. They answered by picking up speed and maintaining a collision course with the Vindicator so... We kept up foreign relations and kidnapped them and then called you to gossip about it." The lollipop found its way back into her mouth and pocketed in her cheek, "Apparently they didn't like what we had to say and here we are now." She sighed from around the thin white stick.

"Thank you Commander. That was, ...descriptive." The Trill turned to his Doctor and said quietly, "Is she feeling alright?"

"She feels as fine as anyone would under the influence of sedatives," Carrie stared at Neyes angrily, "which is what I've been trying to tell you since you pranced in here as if you own this place."

Neyes was clearly not going be getting the detailed and thorough intelligence information he needed in order to make heads or tails of their predicament. His eyes squinted up for a moment as he felt a little achy pressure build up in his temples. With Ellis breathing down his neck for answers to ship security and a new XO sitting high as a kite in his infirmary, the day had managed to get just a little worse.

Ellis just smirked at the John Wayne comment as he kept his palm on the grip of his weapon. As he looked over at the doctor a little nervous about the women. "Is this normal behavior for her?"

"None of these officers are in any shape to participate in any sort of briefing or debriefing, Commander." Carrie continued, standing protectively between Neyes and Ivanova.

"You may have authority over the entire ship, the shuttles, the marines and the surrounding space but I'm in charge here," she inflated her chest again and took a step back in between Ivanova and Neyes. "In the infirmary," she added, as if it had to be explained, and folded her arms across her chest, staring down the Captain. "And I am saying neither one of those officers can be debriefed right now, let alone by surprise while standing in the middle of the hallway with bandages over their fractured cranium. Now please," she gestured at the door, but stood her grounds. "Leave."

Ivanova's eyes widened slightly as her attention snapped to the doctor, and she sat there, looking from Neyes to the doctor and back again as if watching a live action sitcom. Normally the spirited creature would have put one, or both, of them in their respective places and taken a greater stand for herself in the process. For the moment, however, she was unable to muster the energy necessary to light such a fire. Instead she blinked slowly and pulled the sucker from her lips once more. "I can hear you, you know." She managed to semi-hiss, "And no, Judge Dredd, I'm not always like this. I don't always get blown up, but when I do, they give me the heavy duty stuff. Stay in one piece my friend."

"I was talking about the good doctor here. She looks like she's about to explode or go ballistic on us all." Ellis said looking at Ivanova who definitely knew how to bust some balls even in the condition she was in with the being medicated and all. Ellis figured he was gonna like this Ivanova.

Landon looked from the Doctor, to King, and then to the two sitting bruised and bandaged on the biobed. It was an odd feeling, but he felt a sudden comfort in all of them. Maybe it was the stress, or perhaps the complete lack of cohesive reason he could discern, but it was a quick and refreshing burst of reassurance nonetheless. He hadn't had the chance to witness ridiculousness on this level in a while.

Neyes just held back a little laugh, "You're right! It's obvious this woman needs to rest. You too, Petty Officer. Come on King," Landon motioned to the door. "We have a bad-guy to catch."

Carrie stared at the two walk out, still standing with her chest puffed and her head held high -- just in case they were bluffing. Then, when the doors to the infirmary finally whooshed closed, she let out a sigh that seemed to deflate her back to her young-girl stature, and turned to look at her two patients.

"You," she pointed at Hawthorne, "back to the reconstruction unit, don't make me sedate you, and you, Commander," she turned her attention at Ivanova, "Lay back on that bed and finish your lollipop. I'm going to check your dosages...."

Ellis just nodded and followed his captain out of the infirmary wondering what in the hell just happened. It was like a weird hostage situation that ended with the hostage takers keeping the hostages and the negotiators just saying screw this.

Rochelle watched them all, this strange act revolving around her like some epic play. She'd deal with it later, all of it, the infinite insanity of the situation included. For now, though, she shook her head. "I'm heading to my quarters, Doc. I need peace and quiet. Thank you for everything." She said with the shaking awkwardly turning into a nod, a rhythm that hurt and pulled. She'd live. For now. Getting up she rested against the bio bed until the world stopped spinning.

"Yeah, about that," Carrie smiled back at her, amused, "you may want to put on some clothes first."

Perplexed, Ivanova's brow furrowed -- and then the draft against her bare backside made itself incredibly well known. "Yeah, you're right, I probably do." She answered and reached for the folded pair of scrubs sitting on the chair beside her bed, the usual hospital to home attire, and muttered as she pulled them on. The fact she hadn't completely flashed the world was an amazing feat, the fact she was able to pull on scrubs without doing the same... a miracle.

Drugs were bad. Especially for vicious ex ohs.
