Mission: Romulan Ale.. I mean Aide
Location: Saia's Personal Quarters
Timeline: Backlog: Before Away Mission

Saia picked at her food. "Ok. What happened?"

"What?" Nara looked up.

"Oh... Right... I need to clean the manifolds... Thanks for lunch, ladies."

"That's not scheduled until next week."

"Well, I'm sure there's something to do!" He rushed off quick as he could.

Nara looked at Saia who still was waiting for an answer, "Oh, stop! It's not a big deal." The look didn't fade, so Nara came back with, "Ok, let's talk about how you greeted Saul."

"Oh, you know perfectly well that action was justified!"

"Justified, but not characteristic." Nara's tone turned soft. "You jumping on someone ready to strangle them isn't the Saia I watched grow up. You have... had a soft heart."

"And you know just what hardened it!"

Nara shook her head as she watched Saia toss the dishes roughly into the replicator. "I don't think it's hardened. Just wounded."

Saia grabbed the glass out of Nara's hand, "Lunch is over."

"I was worried about you and Kevin didn't tell me anything, but his lack of talking made me more worried. Looks like I had reason to be." Nara stepped toward the door, "And we'll deal with Saul in time. This is huge tangle and it'll take time to work out. In the meantime, I'm going to meet with him to get things worked out so we can finally just put it all behind us."

Saia just walked into her bedroom, muttering something about wanting doors to slam and Nara sighed as she walked out.

Later that afternoon, Nara stood behind Saul in a meeting room. He was looking out the viewport. "I really don't care about why you're here or anything. First things first. Get this all over with, so we can report it all and Saia can get help."

Saul nodded, "I've already got things in motion. There's some people on Trill watching over Saia's grandmother. They haven't reported anyone watching her, but Gleeson has some good contacts that could hire some experts. Snipers, ninjas or just plain assassins can be hard to trace and see. And the next Federation ship in transport range of Trill will pick her up. We've got a plant that's made friends with her to be there to take care of getting her belongings to her if she can't return anytime soon."

Nara nodded professionally, "And then we can make the report, Gleeson is arrested and Saia can get help."

Saul nodded, "Exactly." He looked at her then, "And us?"

Nara narrowed her eyes, "First things first. 'Us' is the least of my priorities."

Saul smirked, "Forgive me for not losing hope."

"Imzadi or not, you are the worst person to have involvement with."

Saul frowned, deeply hurt, but not cowering, he turned a cold tone toward her, "Exactly." He walked out of the room.
