Mission: Romulan Ale.. I mean Aide
Location: USS Vindicator

Saul hit the door chime as he approached wearing civilian clothes. He had planned to not bother with Nara, but knowing she was there, he realized he really missed her. Even when they couldn't stand each other, there was one thing that always worked. Seduction.

Nara asked who it was. Hearing it was Saul, she didn't answer.

"Really, Nara? This is childish. I'll use my clearance if I need to."

The door slid open, "And that's against regulation. But knowing you, you'll cover it up, so fine. You win."

He smirked, "I always do. Get changed. I'm taking you to the holodeck."

"Saul, just stop. Do you have ANY idea what Saia went through because some bastard wanted to get to you and we couldn't stop it because we had no idea where you were? Or even alive?"

Saul frowned. He figured it out then. He sat down, "Tell me."

"She was beaten. Raped. Mentally and emotionally abused. She had to hide it. She couldn't tell anyone. She was alone and hurting." Tears came to her eyes, "She couldn't even tell me... I couldn't help her. I didn't know..."

Saul was up and had her in his arms, but she didn't let him get there. She pushed him away with a growl. "Fuck you! Damn it! How do you do this? Why do I let myself get so vulnerable with you?"

Saul stood back and reached for her, "Fate. Destiny. Hormones. Whatever you want to call it, Nara. Imzadi..."

She glared at him, "Don't you dare."

"Don't dare cave to what's real?"

She rolled her eyes and laughed, "You just want something."

He shrugged, "Maybe. I guess I still don't want to admit to something deeper because it'd make me sacrifice some things, but either way, at this moment... don't tell me you don't want it too."

She looked at him, "Get out."

He stepped closer, "Nara, remember the time in the cave?"

She shook her head, "Don't..."

"You asked me to keep going even though you had flashbacks. I'll be a gentleman, but I won't let you deny yourself."

"You mean deny you."

He smirked, "Ok. Both of us. You remember how good we are together."

She muttered a curse and rushed into him with a deep, passionate kiss. The rest was a chaotic, sensuous blur that left them in tangled sheets.

Later that evening, Nara was sitting up. Saul came back from the bathroom, still naked and snuggled behind her as he sat back on the bed. "Glad we got that back."

Nara sighed, "You're still hated."

"I know." He kissed her shoulder, "I'm also about to make it better."

"Can you fix Saia?"

Saul rested his chin on her shoulder, "You know I want to. I hurt knowing it happened. I hate that I was any cause of it. You both have to know how haunted I am by this. I'm considering doing more than just turning Gleeson over to Starfleet Security. I found him. I have people I can get favors from." After a moment, he laughed, "But I know you. And Saia more so. Despite what he did to her, she's too kind to want him dead. You believe in legal systems."

Nara looked down, "I'm not sure I care about proper justice this time. This is personal."

He rose a brow and looked at her, "Then just say the word, Nara."

Nara looked at him, "We both know it's not my word to say."

Saul nodded and they locked eyes for a moment. She could see his sincerity. He could see her softening and forgiving him. There followed a soft, loving kiss. Though, neither would ever admit to the loving part.
