Timeline: Before the Vindicator D leaves.

Vokar had some extremely important news that he needed to talk to Akida about, according to the computer she was in their quarters and it was only a short ride down from the bridge, but it seemed like an eternity, the Vulcan had so much on his mind, he couldn't tell how she was going to react, but he could feel her through their link, something was bothering her, he knew that she couldn't know about the transfer already, only he and Captain Dar knew so far.

Stepping in through the doors of their shared quarters, the Vulcan smiled as he saw her sitting on the sofa, seemingly waiting for him.

Akida's Grandmother had taught her a long time ago to crochet and Knitting, it was something they had done together when she visit her Grams. She didn't know why but she was sitting on the couch knitting baby booties instead of checking in with Engineering. She'd contact Vincent and had him take over for her. thinking about how Vokar would react to the news she had. She smiled softly feeling him coming closer, until he was inside their quarters. She looked up to him and smiled wondering if he'd guess what she had to tell him from the knitting or not...

So far Vokar hadn't noticed the knitting, he moved forward and sat beside Akida, taking her hand in his, "I have some news," he said, his voice soft and full of love.

"I have news as well." She smiled at him as he took her hand effectively preventing her from knitting further...

"You go first," the Vulcan replied with a smile as he felt their connection grow, he could feel her shielding him from something, obviously she wanted it to be a surprise.

Akida smiled at him lovingly and held up the pair of Baby Booties she was knitting it was actually the second pair she had one in blue and one in green because she didn't know if it was a boy or a girl yet.

"You're pregnant?" Vokar asked as he looked at the booties, wondering how good of a father he would be with the news he had, wondering how Akida would take it, "That's wonderful," he added with a bright smile.

She smiled at him lovingly, "yes it is. now what were you going to tell me?" She asked moving to sit closer to him so she could lean her head on his shoulder.

Vokar swallowed hard as he looked deep into her eyes and saw nothing but love, love for him, for where they were, for what they had been through together, he collected himself and set a slight smile on his face, "I've been offered a new command," he said simply before pausing and waiting for her reaction before he told her the rest.

Akida blinked at him for a second realizing what he said. "Really?" She asked a slow smile forming on her lips as her eyes filled with pride. She gave a happy little sound and wrapped her arms around his neck giving him a soft kiss. "I'm so proud of you!" She told him quite honestly. "Your going to be a daddy and a captain." She smiled at him softly.

"There is something else too," Vokar responded before pausing again, "My new command is the USS Vindicator D, I'm to take her back to Starbase 22 to be renamed and recommissioned, which means I will be leaving as soon as the transfers have finished."

"Not without me your not. that means we wont have to pack up our quarters." She smiled over at him kissing him softly. "I'm so proud of you Vokar" She smiled up at him happily... "Oh I should get Engineering ready to pack up shouldn't I? She looked to him...

"You should, but don't over exert yourself," Vokar replied as he returned the kiss and then kissed her again on the forehead, "We will have to move our quarters eventually, but we can deal with that during the trip to Starbase 22," he added with a light chuckle.

Akida smiled happily, "As long as I'm with you Vokar, I don't care where we go so your stuck with me." She smiled though some what sad just a tad, she was hoping he'd make their relationship more well permanent a girl can dream can she?

Vokar reached over and cupped her cheek in his hand, kissing her softly on the lips as he pulled her into a tight embrace, "I love you," he said softly as he broke the kiss.

She smiled, he didn't say that very often. She wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him again, "I love you Vokar, forever and always." She purred before kissing him again still pressing close just thankful to have him in her arms...
