"........so how's your folks?" Sophie Ann asked taking a bite of her lunch. She had only met them at the wedding and reception and it was cold at best. They weren't fond of Ellis going into the Marines or a fact that he married one and not even an officer.

"Still giving me the cold shoulder even though they do answer when I call they still haven't forgiven Ellis even though it was my decision to join the Marines." Sarah said sighing slightly as she pushed her food around.

"Figured as much. How about your other siblings?" Sophie Ann asked knowing that Celeste didn't agree with Ellis joining but she still talked to him every once and awhile and that she was also the one that pulled some strings to have Sarah serve on the Vindicator under Ellis so he could keep an eye on her.

"Well.......you know Celeste she's not okay with it but she tries to understand my decision. Jamie is just too young to understand any of this and my brothers well they're too busy scheming to even bother or care." Sarah said shrugging her shoulders.

Sophie Ann didn't really have any family outside of her Marine family and of course Ellis, Sarah and kind've Celeste which for her right now was enough. "So how you doing after the excitement on the colony." She wasn't a counselor and wasn't fond of them but she also knew the traumas after intense missions.

"Fine.......I guess not really sure I never fired my weapon or was never in a dangerous situation or a situation I couldn't get myself out of." Sarah said.

"Well if anything changes I'm here and so is your brother even though he can be a little brash all the time he is a good listener." Sophie Ann said with a smile. "And even Celeste sounds like someone you can talk to she might not understand everything but she's a sounding board."

"I know.....and that's why I'm so glad that you and my brother got married." Sarah said with a smile as she finished her meal, "well I better go get ready I've got some late afternoon PT."

"Yeah......I've got go and deal with some paper work. Ellis and the new XO aren't exactly hitting it off than again Ellis doesn't hit off well with most non-Marines." Sophie Ann said with a grin. With that the two women stood up cleared the table and headed off in opposite directions to finish up the day.
