Mission: Secret Meetings
Location: Sickbay

=/\= Sickbay =/\=

Black was still confined to sickbay, and the room they left her in. For some reason all she could do was smile at the fact she was right about what was going on. Unfortunatly she was too late to do anything about it.....err.....she actually didn't even get a chance to prevent it.

Neyes entered the room with Captain King, his arms already crossed as he took the corner of the room opposite the marine Captain. "I had asked the Doctor not to be here while we conduct this discussion. While I value her discretion, the fewer people who know about this debacle the better."

Landon pressed a control on the panel next to him, and the image of the Romulan Gai'Shian appeared on the screen. Neither the Captain nor the Commander said a word as the Romulan sat in his cell, safely on the other side of the monitor.

"So I guess you believe me now?" Tea asked before looking at the image, "you captured a Romulan?" She asked not surprised he was captured more surprise that he didn't attempt suicide. "Has he said anything?"

Landon blinked. "We can't get in touch with command as of yet, so I'm going to follow protocol in this situation. We will turn you over to the nearest starbase on our arrival. I am not formally charging you with anything, Ms. Black. What Starfleet chooses to do with you about all this is up to them. Somehow I doubt you'll take much heat for following orders.

"You on the other hand," Landon said turned to the screen, his look soured, "Will be in for a much more interesting de-briefing process. It's my honest disappointment I don't get to see to the specifics personally. I'm sure you'll be released back to your people... eventually."

The Gai'Shian commander just sat on his knees with his eyes closed almost like he was in meditation. He than opened up his eyes and looked straight at the camera and said one word in perfect Federation standard, "Black."

Neyes made a face, turning to look at the Lieutenant then back at the Romulan, not sure if his mono-sillabic statement meant anything more than the shade of color, or the young woman on the bed.

"Cute." Landon muttered disaffectionately, remembering a report saying the Romulan had yet to say anything at all. "Now we know you're not deaf. Would you care to say anything else on your behalf? Perhaps MY name?"

The Gai'Shian returned to his silent mediation but with his eyes wide open looking directly at lieutenant Black.

Ellis noticed that, "sir may I speak with you in private?" Ellis said deciding to use a completely different tactic which was to be less abrasive which was odd for him and found extremely difficult to actually pull off.

Landon turned to look at the screen, and then Lt. Black before following Ellis out into the main section through the doorway. "What is it." Landon asked gruffly.

"I want to keep this lieutenant Black in the company as the intelligence liaison officer. I mean she has proven to be useful and who knows if we'll need her in the future." Ellis said looking at the captain knowing that they didn't see eye to eye on many things but he was hoping that the captain saw the advantage of an officer like her.

Neyes looked at Ellis for a moment, "You mean like keeping her on the ship? Taking her in as crew? Brass would never let that fly, Marine-Captain." He paused, a quick thought coming across. "Well..."

"Yes sir." Ellis said seeing the cogs turn in the captain's head.

Landon shrugged. If what he'd heard about the Fleet was true, Intelligence was going to be spotty at best. Meaning brass would neither have time or the resources to care about Black, and Landon was questioning whether he needed to report it anyway.

"You're responsible for her, Ellis. So don't find a way to use this to piss me off." His voice was matter-of-fact. Landon could see the usefulness in having her aboard, as much as he hated to admit King was right, the girl could be useful. For what he wasn't sure, yet.

"Of course. Would never dream of that sir." Ellis said keeping a straight face. "Thank you sir.....I'll let her know. But there is one thing concerning me the Romulan commander did mention her last name and yes I know it could also just be him saying a simple color but that coincidence is just too close."

Neyes nodded. "See what you can find out from him before we arrive at spacedock. I have to admit it's a little unnerving."

Landon took one look back and then looked to King as he walked past, the man almost made his skin crawl. Neyes didn't trust the marine, or the men and woman who took his orders. He was interested to see how it all played out, though, and was willing to wait.

"Take care of it, and try not to let anyone beat him senseless, yeah?" A moment later he was out the door.

Ellis just nodded. He was rough but he knew the laws regarding POWs and he respected those laws or essentially you would loose your humanity.
