Mission: Are You Touched?

Having spent some time trying to figure out the best place for her, without the help of her contacts; as that had currently seemed like a bad thing for her to do. At least according to the stuck up people that had originally picked her up. Though, she'd had to be on her best behavior, they had rescued her ass. Something that had surprised her, then again they likely hadn't expected to be picking up a civilian, usually it was the officers that had managed to snag the first pods out. Either way though, she had made it.

Green eyes rested upon the view outside her window, amazing how even out in the middle of no where, one could find beauty in things. Although for her, the view only amused her for a little bit before her mind once more traveled. She was off to find work on some ship known as the Vindicator. What a big scary name for a space ship she thought with a smirk and shake of her head. Although she'd done her research and had to admit that the specs had been impressive. But once more it was ran by another woman, and though not as easy to wrap around her little finger, they were pretty easy to fool. After all, she was a lost young woman who'd just lost her home and her family.

Her jaw twitched at that... yes, if she ever saw Peter again she was so shooting him in the balls for leaving her behind in that mess. Damn men, you couldn't count on them for anything besides a good lay and even then, some women tended to be just as good. A slow smile touched her features as she thought of her last fling, wondering just how well the Doctor was doing after her transfer.

The soft meow sound caught her attention as the feline stretched out on her lap, waking up from his nap. Curiosity had nothing on her cat as it started moving to check things out. Reaching up to tickle under Salem’s chin she smiled as she heard the soft rumbling purr of a happy kitty. Well, at least one of the two of them were happy Jayde thought as she sighed softly as everything seemed to be stressing her out. The trip had been a bit longer than she'd expected, but then... nothing was as she'd expected lately.

Another chapter in her life was about to start, this time though... no one would know her or her past. She could start fresh, something she'd decided to do when she'd checked out the position in the lounge, bar-tending... something easy and fun, cause her life needed some fun. Add that to the fact people talked freely in bars and lounges, and loose lips led to some good perks. And perks always led to... trouble. Shaking her head she tried to remind herself that she needed to try and stay out of trouble, after all she didn't have anyone to rescue her this time. She'd lost her knights in dark armor, her protectors... owners. Owners, what was she a cat? Then again, she hadn't minded being owned by Zane, he tended to make sure she was kept a happy pet. Smirking a little as she pondered that, a hand reached for her now slightly warmed amaretto as she lifted it for a drink. After finishing the glass off, she leaned back in her chair to relax a bit, only to doze off.

“We will be docking in about 20 minutes.” Came the high pitched irritating voice of some Ensign who’d added like a glorified flight attendant who stopped to check on her.”So you should put the cat in it’s cage.” She said eyeing the small siamese cat as if it was a smelly rat.

“Thank you, I’ll make sure to put my pet in it’s carrier.” Jayde said coolly as she looked to the other woman before muttering softly. “You know, a drink might help put a smile on your face… that or a good lay.”

The women's brown eyes locked hard upon the cool green ones as she leaned over and slowly hissed. “Look civi… I don’t know who you did in order to get this special flight to the Vindicator, but you are no special than one other civilian that comes through here. All you are is someone us Starfleet officers have to babysit.” With that, she straightened up before turning to stalk off.

A slight grit of her teeth as she worked to keep her anger in check, she scooped up feline and murmured some soft soothing words to the cat as she put him in the carrier before looking out the window again. Her eyes widening as she got a look at the ship she would be working on for the first time and she smiled somewhat. Softly, she whispered to Salem. “New start, new life… Here we go again…”
